I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, which is housed in the School of Liberal Arts at Siena College in Loudonville, NY. My wife, Lauren, and I live in Delmar, NY. I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Georgia in 2014. My dissertation, Breaking Free: The Rise of Candidate-Centered Politics, focused on the timing and causes of the rise of a candidate-centered electoral system, particularly within the U.S. House of Representatives. Broadly, I study the intersection of American political institutions and elections. I earned my Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Spanish at Louisiana State University in 2008.
I enjoy watching and attending sporting events and am an avid fan of all LSU sports teams, Atlanta Braves baseball, New Orleans Saints football, Chicago Blackhawks hockey, and all Siena Saints sports teams. I also enjoy playing racquetball and boxing. I can often be found in the kitchen, where I make particularly good chili, jambalaya, and coconut cake. |
